How do I subscribe to the digest form of a listserv?
- You may need to reference your “Welcome to the Chairs List” email to find your password. Then visit the mail lists page: http://mail.idecosystem.org/mailman/listinfo, click the list you are interested in and click the “Unsubscribe or Edit options” to change your email delivery form.
- Open Lists: Anyone can subscribe. Archives are world viewable. Any member case post - no approval necessary.
- Retired Lists: Archives preserved, but no new subscriptions or posts.
- Private Lists: Subscription requires approval. Archives viewable only to members. Any member can post.
- Restricted Lists: Anyone can subscribe. Archives are world viewable. Need one-time approval for posting privileges.
- To view listserv archive, visit http://mail.idecosystem.org/mailman/listinfo, click the list you are interested in, then click the Archives link under the first header on the page. Alternatively, you can visit http://www.idecosystem.org/page/plenary-groups to view a list of all groups, group pages, listserv URLs, and archive URLs.
- Visit http://mail.idecosystem.org/mailman/listinfo, click the list you are interested in, and enter your username and password and click the “Visit Subscriber List” button to view the list of listserv subscribers.
How do I check to see if I am subscribed to a list?
- Visit http://mail.idecosystem.org/mailman/listinfo, click the list you are interested in, and enter your username and password and click the “Visit Subscriber List” button to view the list of listserv subscribers.
- To change your listserv password, visit http://mail.idecosystem.org/mailman/listinfo, click the listserv name, enter you email address next to the “Unsubscribe or edit options” button, then click the “Unsubscribe or edit options” button, then click the Remind” button.
- If you were added to a closed list, to find your password, you will have to reference to your “Welcome to this listserv” email to see which password was assigned to you. You can change this password by visiting http://mail.idecosystem.org/mailman/listinfo, clicking the list, entering your email, then clicking the “Unsubscribe or edit options” button.
How do I unsubscribe from a list?
- Using the web interface:
- Go to the list information page for the list you want to leave. (This will probably be something like http://mail.idecosystem.org/mailman/listinfo - find the listserv you want to unsubscribe from.
- Look for the section marked "LISTNAME subscribers" (found near the bottom of the page).
- There should be a button marked "Unsubscribe or Edit Options." Enter your email address in the box beside this button and press the button.
- You should be brought to a new page which has an "Unsubscribe" button. Press it to unsubscribe and follow the instructions given.
- Using the email interface:
- Open a mail program which sends mail from the address you want to unsubscribe.
- Send a mail to the list unsubscribe address, which will be of the form LISTNAME-leave@DOMAIN. The subject and body of this message will be ignored, so it doesn't matter what you put there.
How do I download attachments from the archives?
- To download mailman attachments from the archives, do the following:
- Find the message in the archives. All archives are linked to at the bottom of this page: http://www.idecosystem.org/page/idesg-listserv-types
- Find the individual message in the archives, it will be its own .html page.
- Scroll to the bottom of the message, where you see the text for the message's attachements (if it had any attachments).
- Right click the url and select “save as” and rename with its correct file extention instead of .bin. The correct file extension is at the end of the "desc:" line.
